Watsonville Public Library’s Response to COVID-19

In response to the outbreak of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Santa Cruz County, the Watsonville Public Library is working with the City of Watsonville leadership to take necessary steps to respond to this evolving situation.  The library will be closed until further notice.

Please ignore any overdue notices you may receive.
No fines will accrue during this period.

The Virtual Library remains available, open 24/7.
Materials can still be requested for pick up, see information below for how.

Library Programs Cancelled Until Further Notice

Santa Cruz County's Health Services Agency (HAS) recently issued interim guidelines for social distancing to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the community. These recommendations may affect our events and programs. As per instructions from City Administration, the library is cancelling all programs and meetings scheduled to be held at either library until further notice.

Staff will continue to monitor the changing situation and adjust our response as necessary. Please check this website for up-to-date information concerning library closures. We strongly encourage patrons who are feeling ill to stay home and not visit the Library, but use our online resources as an alternative.

Your Safety Is Our Top Priority

The library is performing extra sanitizing of all "high touch" surfaces, including computer keyboards and mice; and making hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes available.

Protect, Prepare, and Know the Facts

As a reminder, the best ways to reduce risk of getting sick, as with seasonal colds or the flu, still applies to prevent COVID-19:

► Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
► Cover your cough or sneeze
► Stay home if you are sick
► Avoid touching your face
