The County of Santa Cruz is currently in Phase 1a of the distribution plan.
Until widely available, distribution of coronavirus vaccine is prioritized for frontline healthcare workers and vulnerable populations. Most will eventually receive vaccines from your health care provider, and the County will follow distribution guidelines from the state and federal government.
Local Planning
Per California Department of Public Health Allocation Guidelines and Federal Policy, COVID-19 vaccine will be given to specific populations in phases. We are currently in Phase 1a of the distribution plan. General community members will be in the last phase.
The is a rapidly evolving situation and we are following closely the work of California’s vaccine planning task force, which is determining many of the policies and procedures for which vaccine get distributed when, how and to whom. The State’s decisions will be implemented through our local vaccine plan.
This is only the beginning and we must all continue to do our part to stay safe while we wait for the vaccine to be widely available.
