Spanish-speaking immigrants in our community will soon have the opportunity to further their education and get one step closer to obtaining their General Education Development (GED).
This one-of-a-kind program, known as “Casa INEA - Plaza Comunitaria,” will allow Mexican youth and adults, over 15 years of age, to start or finish their elementary and secondary schooling in their native language. Our staff from the Watsonville Public Library worked alongside the Mexican Consulate for several months to bring this program to Watsonville.

Inmigrantes de habla hispana en nuestra comunidad pronto tendrán la oportunidad de continuar su educación y estar un paso más cerca de obtener su Desarrollo de Educación General (GED).
Este programa único en su tipo, conocido como “Casa INEA - Plaza Comunitaria”, permitirá a jóvenes y adultos mexicanos, mayores de 15 años, iniciar o terminar su educación primaria y secundaria en su lengua materna. Nuestro personal de la Biblioteca Pública de Watsonville trabajó junto con el Consulado de México durante varios meses para traer programa a Watsonville.
