[ARCHIVED] Get Ready to Catch the Rain

rain barrel

Collecting rainwater from roofs, gutters and other surfaces to save for later use is easy! While the harvested rainwater is not drinking water quality, it can be used to water your garden and landscape throughout the drier seasons of the year. The Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency is offering a generous rebate for rainwater catchment barrels or tanks.

Capturing and storing rainwater to irrigate your garden helps reduce the demand on the potable water system. Harvesting rainwater also minimizes the amount of untreated water that runs throughout our streets into the stormdrain system, which goes untreated into our wetlands, rivers and beaches. This water is too precious to waste, and while money doesn't grow on trees, in this case it does fall from the sky.

Complete a rain barrel rebate form online or call the PVWMA office at (831) 722-9292
