Water Services Staff

Claremont Ave. will be paved today, November 30th as part of the Water Main Replacement Project

TRAFFIC DELAYS | CLOSURE OF CLIFFORD AVENUE FROM PENNSYLVANIA TO MELROSE | The Water Services Division will be closing Clifford Avenue from Pennsylvania to Melrose Street today, Thursday, November 30th to pave Claremont Ave.  Road closure will only be for Thursday, November 30th but the paving will be affecting Melrose, Crescent, and Allston the following three days. This will complete the water main replacement project for Claremont, Melrose, Crescent, and Allston.

The Water Main Replacement Program is a preventative, pro-active plan to replace and improve our aging infrastructure before unexpected breaks or disruptions occur. By replacing sections of pipeline we will conserve water, reduce water leaks, and improve your water service and water quality. Replacing water mains costs approximately $750,000 per mile.

Thank you for your patience during this time.
