During the next few weeks, you’ll be seeing additional officers looking for drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. We are also gearing up for a DUI checkpoint on Friday, August 17. This is all part the national enforcement campaign called “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” that runs from August 17 through September 3.
Here are a few tips to stay safe on the road:
•Always designate a sober driver.
•Use public transportation or a ride-sharing service to get home.
•Have a friend or family member who is about to drive buzzed or impaired? Take the keys away and arrange to get them home safely.
•Report drunk drivers - call 911.
