City of Watsonville & PVUSD Open Mello Center to the Community Presenting México en el Corazón

Mexico en el Corazon___

We’re excited to welcome México en el Corazón® on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 12:30 pm. This free, family-friendly event celebrates the beauty, region and culture of México.

The City of Watsonville and the Pajaro Valley Unified School District have been working together to maximize the use of the Henry J. Mello Performing Arts Center. The center was originally built in 1994 as a cooperative effort between the Pajaro Valley Unified School District and the City of Watsonville. Its opening inaugural act was in April 16, 1994. Since then, the venue has hosted numerous productions, concerts, plays, graduations, musical performance and much more. The venue seats 838 people and serves the needs of the community by providing a premier venue for performing arts in South County.

With this renewed partnership, the school district and the City hope to continue to expand the use of the Mello Center and welcome more performing art for the community to enjoy. To kick-off this partnership we’re excited to welcome México en el Corazón® on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 12:30 pm. This free, family-friendly event celebrates the beauty, region and culture of México and is presented by the North American Institute for Mexican Advancement (NAIMA).

The Folkloric Ballet of the City of Guadalajara was founded on February 14, 1984 with the support of the municipal authorities, with the aim of preserving, rescuing and spreading the customs and traditions of the region. Experience a magical journey of authentic Mexican folklore presented through beautiful traditional dances and regional Mariachi music from Jalisco.

This event immerses its viewers into the artistic world of Mariachi music, folkloric ballet, and other representations of Mexican heritage, completely free to the public. During its 35 years of life, this ballet has acquired great prestige, so it has received different invitations to participate in national forums and international festivals.

Share an afternoon of enchantment at the iconic Henry J. Mello Center for this free internationally recognized event. Touring directly from México to iconic landmarks and cities in the US, join México en el Corazón® in Watsonville for an unforgettable afternoon!
