Moveable Murals Ribbon Cutting & Public Art Announcement

Moveable Murals Ribbon Cutting

Movable Murals, a collaborative project of Pajaro Valley Arts and the City, provides a venue for artists and community groups to showcase large-scale paintings to be enjoyed by all.

Movable Murals, a collaborative project of Pajaro Valley Arts and the City of Watsonville, provides a venue for artists and community groups to showcase large-scale paintings in a public setting, visible to and enjoyed by all who pass through Watsonville. The murals are rotated annually.  In 2020, in addition to four murals at 250 Main Street, PVA will be mounting three new murals at Ramsay Park. Calls for artist to participate will be available at www.pvarts.org in January of 2020.

Public Art Grant Program

The City of Watsonville is also announcing their new grant program. In an effort to promote, support and increase the creation of public art displays within the City of Watsonville, the City is proud to announce the release of the grant guidelines and application to fund four (4) Public Art Projects. The purpose of the grant program is to provide artists an opportunity for personal and community reflection, promote the City’s attributes and enhance its image for the enjoyment and benefit of the community. Artists may receive a grant for up to one thousand dollars ($1,000) to support the creation of public art projects proposed to be located on publicly or non-profit owned property. The guidelines will be released on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 and can be found online at www.cityofwatsonville.org.
