Pinto Lake Park

Due to high algae levels, the lake at Pinto Lake Park is closed. Fishing or boating are not permitted. The lake will re-open when algae levels return to a safe level. Only the lake is closed, the remainder of the park remains open. This lakeside park offers boating, fishing, picnic areas, a baseball diamond, volleyball court and an RV Park. You are welcomed to bring your own boat, raft, kayak, canoe or inflatable watercraft onto the lake, but you are subject to inspection and launch fees. The park consists of 78 acres, 70 of which are water and 8 are land. Park Services & Rules As of April 2017, the City of Watsonville, Parks & Community Services Department has assumed the oversight of the service operations at Pinto Lake Park and the RV Park. Access the Official Park Rules Here. Park Hours Pinto Lake is open from sunrise to sunset, everyday. It is, however, subject to closures based on weather conditions (like flooding). Boating and RV hours are limited. Please see below.
  • Tuesday, November 21st: All RVs must checkout by noon (Boat Ramp Open)
  • Wednesday, November 22nd: CLOSED (Boat Ramp Open)
  • Thursday, November 23rd: CLOSED (Boat Ramp Closed)
  • Friday, November 24th: CLOSED (Boat Ramp Closed)
  • Saturday, November 25th: OPEN, regular hours resume
  • Monday, December 18th: All RVs must checkout by noon and the RV Park will be closed until Wednesday, February 28th. 
  • Thursday March 1st: OPEN Spring Season Begins 
Picnic Tables and Pavilion Reservation
You may reserve the Pavilion at Pinto Lake by contacting the Parks & Community Services Office (M-F 9-4). Picnic tables at Pinto Lake are available to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. Boat Inspection & Fees
To prevent the infestation of Zebra and Quagga Mussels, every boat must be inspected and approved before being launched into the lake. Boaters can ask about our Banding Program to bypass a full inspection and save money on fees, please contact us for this information. If you plan on launching a boat into the lake, you must have your boat inspected.

Boat Inspection Times
  • Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays --- 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Summer Boating Hours (March - September) --- 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Winter Boating Hours (October - December 17th) --- 7:00 AM - hour before sunset
Launch Fee
  • Launch Fee is $10 resident / $12 non-resident
  • Inspection Fee is $10 for watercraft up to 12 feet long
  • Inspection Fee is $12 for watercraft over 12 feet long
Inspection Fees (Watercraft: Boat, Canoe, Kayak)
  • $10 resident / $12 non-resident for watercraft up to 12 feet
  • $12 resident / $12 non-resident for watercraft over 12 feet
Annual Launch Permit
  • $60 resident / $90 non-resident
Boat Rentals
  • $10 per hour / $25 for 4 hours
RV Park Reservations & Fees

Fees for Service
  • $45 per night plus $2 for up to 2 people
  • $5 extra for each additional adult, per night
  • $2 extra for each additional vehicle per night
  • $5 extra for dogs
  • Children under 16 are free
